CMS Winter Sports Tryout InformationBoys Basketball Tryouts, November 13, Sunday, 1:00 - 4:00 pm @ HS Gym. Please use 7th Street gate to enter and exit. Tryouts will continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the HS gym. We will let the boys and parents know specific times on Sunday for the rest of the tryout times. We (HS and MS) are in the process of doing tryouts and all need to use the gym. Girls Soccer Tryouts, November 14 & 16, Monday and Wednesday, 3:15 - 5:30 @ Tidelands Fields. Shinguards are required to tryout. There may be a callback on Friday if needed at the same time and same place. Boys Soccer Tryouts, November 15 & 17, Tuesday and Thursday, 3:15 - 5:30 @ Tidelands Fields. Shinguards are required to tryout. There may be a callback on Friday if needed at the same time and same place. Girls Softball Tryouts, November 14 - 18, Monday - Friday, 3:30 - Dusk @ Green Field (located behind Village Elementary on 7th Street). Co-Ed Golf, Lawn Bowling, Speed/Strength, Rocking Yoga will begin the week we return from Thanksgiving break. All three pieces of paperwork (Emergency Form, Medical History, Physical) need to be completed before participation/tryout. That includes all signatures.

CHS Winter Sports Try-Outs For ALL sports, a student must complete the on-line registration which can be found at: IN ADDITION, students must have all supporting paperwork below turned in to the Front Office before they can try-out/practice. Copies of these can also be found on the website, and you will be guided to these links during the on-line REGISTRATION process. Paperwork includes: ü Medical Health History ü Physical Exam – (any Doctor signed Physical taken after May 2009 is acceptable) ü CUSD Emergency Release Form ü Participation form ü CIF Ethics Form If you are playing a FALL sport that will be in play-offs you MUST communicate with the Winter coach to let them know you intend on playing! A player must attend all try-outs/practices unless excused by the coach. All teams practice at least Mon-Fri and some on Sat so these dates are just the first few days. Teams will give out tentative practice schedules once student makes the team. Try-out / Practice Times: Boys’ Basketball: Try-outs Sat Nov. 12th 12:00-2:30 in gym. Monday Nov 14th 5:15-7:30, Tues 5:00-7:00. All try-outs/practices are in gym. Girls’ Basketball: Practices in Gym Sat. Nov. 12th, 9:00-11:30. Practices will continue on Monday 3:00-5:00 and Tues 2:30-4:45. Boys’ Soccer: Monday Nov. 14th 3:00-5:00 Niedermeyer Field, Nov. 15th 3:00-5:00 Cutler Field and Wed. Nov. 16th 3:00-5:00 Niedermeyer Field. Bring cleats and running shoes. Girls’ Soccer: Monday Nov. 14th 5:0-7:00 Cutler Field, Nov. 15th 3:00-5:00 Niedermeyer Field and Wed. Nov. 16th 5:00-7:00 Cutler Field. Bring cleats and running shoes. Girls Waterpolo: Mon. Nov. 14-Wed. Nov. 17th in the pool immediately after school at BBMAC.

CHS Fall Sports Starts If you are interested in trying out for a fall sport at Coronado High School, here is the contact information and details regarding the first day of practice. Remember to try out for any sport students must have turned in their sports registration packet to the front office including a physical exam BEFORE they practice. To obtain registration forms please go to www.islandersportsfoundation.com and click on “register athletes here” and then follow directions. Once complete the website will E-MAIL the forms to you. While you can go to your own doctor ISF will be holding their annual physicals on Aug 10th at 5:30 in the 500 bldg at the High School. Cost is $20.00 and will go to pay for medical supplies for the athletic teams this year. Any questions or if you have problems registering please contact: Cross Country – First practice will be Wed. Aug 25 th meet at the players” gate of the football field at 3:00PM. Coronado Physicians supporting athletics In the 1990’s Dr. Chuck Eaton and a handful of local physicians donated their services to provide physical exams for Coronado High School athletes. Dr. Eaton’s legacy lives on today with generous support from an expanding list of Coronado physicians & health care professionals. Physicals for Sports ‘11 will be offering both CHS & CMS athletes an opportunity to get the required physical exam necessary to participate in school sports Physicians & nurses are still needed for this event.
